REALLY...

To really love a woman, to understand her,
....you've got to know her deep inside,
Hear every thought, see every dream, and give her wings when she wants to fly
Then when you find yourself lying helpless in her arms,
....you know you really love a woman
When you love a woman, you tell her that she's really wanted
When you love a woman, you tell her that she's the one
She needs somebody, to tell her that it's gonna last forever
She needs somebody, to tell her that you'll always be together
So tell me have you ever really...really, really ever loved a woman ?
To really love a woman, let her hold you,
....till you know how she needs to be touched
You've got to breathe her, really taste her
....till you can feel her in your blood
And when you can see your unborn children in her eyes
....you know you really love a woman
You've got to give her some faith, hold her tight, a little tenderness
....you've got to treat her right
She will be there for you taking good care of you
You really gotta love your woman
And when you find yourself lying helpless in her arms,
you know you really love a woman

Chaosgnois: REALLY i don't FEEL singing except in arabic but this song is really touching:

when you find yourself lying helpless in her arms...

till you can feel her in your blood.....

You've got to give her some faith, hold her tight, a little tenderness
....you've got to treat her right..And when you can see your unborn children in her eyes...

...so when you REALLY feel like singing in Arabic, who evokes you most??......the old "great" era giants (Umm Kulthum, Haleem, Fayrouz, Fareed.......)?....or some new rising talents?

The reason I am asking is, although I have great respect for the past "giants", I feel it is time for a new generation of "serious" artists to rise in the Arab music world.

"SERIOUS" and sencere in the sense of expressing new meanings and new concepts that reflect the current HUMAN CONDITION......I strongly believe that Arab artists are so lagging behind in their concern for universal HUMAN issues. They mostly, with very few exceptions, either moan and groan about lost loves and broken hearts, invoke folkloric nostalgia or sing heshshekk beshshsekk stuff....that also goes for the other arts (plastic arts .....painters, sculpters.....etc.)

It is all connected, the dismal conditions of the arts in the Arab World (Egypt especially), is just a mirror of the miserable political and cultural conditions at large.......

A true awakening is way over due!!

......p.s.: I was pleasantly surprised to see you blogging away Naguib Surur's Ummeyyat.......is that a give away of the generation you belong to?....or just a case of well informed blogger?? (wink wink!!)
